I just recently purchased a set of revos.. i went on a few online places (tirerack, etc) and got a price. Go into places near you and work up deals. They want to sell the tires locally but no need to pay full price when some online retailers will actually ship the tire to your local tire shop anyway.

Recently I purchased 4 35x12.5x15 BFG/AT tires from 4Wheelparts for $647 out the door. I used this tires for commuting, and the guy who did the balanceing did an awesome job. I can cruise up to 85mph, with nary a vibration. I called Discount, and they were actually able to match the price, but I had already place the order with 4Wheel. I would call your local 4Wheel parts, get a great price, then call Discount and have them match the price or beat it. I tried, Sams, Costco, and a few other local shops, and nobody could beat the 4Wheel parts price.

I've picking up my set of 33's from 4wp tomorrow... Best price found, and $60 off all BFG orders in Feb.

How did you manage that? I checked after reading your post hoping to get a better deal and they are $695.96 plus shipping now.

Looks like I'm going to have to stick with Discount. I have found tires cheaper elsewhere, but I am buying new wheels too......maybe that's why I can't get any great deals. It's either buy tires one place and wheel somewhere else and pay shipping at both places or find one place that is reasonable for both.

We have a 4Wheelparts here in ABQ. I mentioned that Discount had a pretty good deal on tires, and they really started to go to work for me. As I understand it, mounting and balancing the BFG tires is free. Plus, with the $60 dollar discount, I was able to get 4 tires out of the door for $647. Mind, you, I did not get the warranty on the tires. Since, I will not be taking these tires off road, I did not get the warranty. I have a full set of MT/R tires for the off-road business.

This is a long shot but I got lucky and found the best place for me to get tires. I know someone who used to work at a tire plant and he can get 4 sets of tires a year for a good deal shipped to his home. I bought a brand of tire that is on his list and need a fifth for a spare so I am going to get him to get it for me as well as a more aggressive tire. If I like the other and the price is right I might get some dedicated off road tires. If there are any tire companies around you might know someone with a similar deal. I also can get Optima batteries for $43 each plus shipping this way but through another friend. He can get two a month but they are usually spoken for. I have to let him know a month or two in advance if I want one.
