Belts squeak under load

i have a 87 pickup 22r and when i reach high rpms my belts squeak... so i went to walmart and bought a belt conditioner by armer all. i sprayed the conditioner in the engine fan pulley, but now when i press the gas it makes a more annoying winding sound than it did before. any suggestions?

Belts squeak because they are worn out and/or improperly tensioned.

Sure its the belt and not the power steering pump?

it wasnt the fan causing the noise?
squeaks are not always belts and belts don't always sweak.
maybe the fan clutch isnt working?

its definitely not the power steering 'cuz i aint got it.. the high pitch squeek stopped when i revd high and the annoying NEW sound isn't as loud now... the belts arent really wilted so im thinking that it was the belts that were slipping..

I would start by spraying that belt dressing off with some brake cleaner & then put a new belt on there. That belt dressing is nothing but garbage.
