Bed rail caps for 1986 pickup?

Hi guys,

I've owned my 1986 longbed SR5 4WD pickup for 20 years and have put dents in the bed rails during that time. I would like to protect the rails from more damage but I can't find any bed rail caps for my truck (like these: http://www.deezee.com/products/c3114/Side_Bed_Caps.html). Anyone know of a source?

Also, anyone have luck doing dent removal on their bed rails?

Thanks.

Any good metal shop with a eight foot or so metal brake should be able to fab you up some out of diamond plate. Might even beable to get it done at the metal supply shop.

Don't think you can get those dents out without pulling the sheet metal off, it's double walled on the rail. I guess you could knock em out from underneath but you'd trash the inner wall.

If you get custom fabbed caps you can get them oversized to hide anything thats wandered down the side to far

Thanks, sounds like I need to pay a visit to my metal shop. I was kinda hoping for the ABS style but diamond plate would be tougher anyway. I have a bedliner but the original owner cut off the bed rail pieces, I guess for putting a cap on top of the bed.
