bed question

on my 87 pickup, sr5 xtra car s/b. The bed is rusted to hell, holes all over the place. I found one from a guy who is more or less parting out a 85-88? 2WD s/b. The bed looks the same, and measures the same distance from front to back. I heard there was a one or two piece design or something? DO you guys think this bed will work? The guy want's like 200 dollars. It's in good shape though. It looks the same to me. Is it a bitch to change it?

thanks

Check the body mounts. It's pretty easy to change if you can get a few friends over.

Undo the body mounts.
Undo the taillight wiring (recommend you cut it and install weatherproof connectors so you can easily undo them later - there's a lot of things made MUCH easier by removing the bed)
Undo the gas filler surround
Lift the bed off.

yes same bed /84-/88 ... well basically ... the 2WD bed is not flared like the 4WD .

mounts are the same , but you will have to change/cut the fuel filler hose , and also the mud flaps mount up differently .
