Question Baffled...

My engine doesn't have an oil baffle in between the sump and the block. What's with? I'm guessing it didn't just fall off. Did some 22REs come with no oil baffle?

??? It has been noted that the baffle is missing in the 1st picture. I'm not sure what you are getting at exactly.

It ain't. I had the front diff out a while ago, so I dropped the pan and cleaned out the timing chain pieces, guides and a bolt. There definately wasn't any baffle in the pan.

If its not in the pan I bet you could find one to put in online somewere. I found some on ebay and a few other site with a quick search. I wondered the same thing the other day working on a 22re and found that it was in the pan.

that 2nd pic is not a pic of a 22re!

Ive never seen a baffle like that on one either.

like said above there is a Lil cheesy baffle in the pan but thats it!

Probably a 3VZE then. THe point is that my 22RE doesn't have one I can't think its going to cause trouble- I don't spend much time accelerating fast or braking suddenly. Maybe someday I'll get around to dealing with it.

replace it and forget it...
might be fun to get some high temp laminate paper and leave yourself a laminated note in the bottom of the pan reminding yourself to buy one then next time you have to take the pan off...
