my 92 4runner is vibrating really bad. you get the feel like your riding a dirtbike (or anything with extremely knobby tires) on pavement. when i depress the clutch it goes away. more prominent when i am decelerating. i checked the play on the driveshaft and it seems to be alot more than i would expect. are the universal joints a good place to start or shall i suspect something else? this has been a pretty quick progression from no vibration at all to "holy crap im gonna die when i drive this thing"- help help

 

sounds like your ujoints are going out there easy to change

 

the play in the drive shaft would be the u-joints?

 

i had this vibration in my 4runner and just thought i was the tires so i didnt bother with it. it got worse until one day i dropped by driveshaft and then had to drop 200 for a new one. fix it now before u got serious problems in the future.

 

its on the top of my list of things to do to it- this weekend. just wanted to figure out what it was first
