Bad Thermostat?

Ok, so last night my 89' stopped making heat. Basically, the temp gauge goes about 1/3-1/2 way up like usual, but the heater doesn't blow any heat. Is my thermostat shot and just staying open?

Temp would'nt build as high with the tstat hung open usually anyhow. Could be the valve on the firewall not moving for one reason or another, colapsed hose, plugged core as stated before. Good luck Jim

What's the best way to check for clogs in the heater core?

Oh, and yes, the blower motor blows cold air, sometimes luke warm.
