Hi, I have a 92 4runner 22re with 295k on it and the transmission on it is starting to stick and wont shift into 4th gear unless the truck wants to. I have found another Automatic transmission but its out of a 3.0 V6 for 100$ with transfercase and it only has 180k on it and Im thinking about doing a swap! Will the 3.0 bolt right up to the 22re ? Would it be a good swap, and what is the cost range usually for a swap like this?

 

hello, the trans and transfer case from the 3.0 wont directly bolt up to the 22re without some sort of adapter , and im not sure where to get the adapter . but I would re consider going to an automatic with the 22re , I have heard how parasitic the auto trans is behind the 22re , lots of people have switched to auto to manual and say its a night and day diff from auto to manual trans. they claim its much slower than the manual trans

 

Okay, well say I did go to a manual transmission which is what I want to do, what would the cost effects of that swap cost me? I already Know where I could find a manual trans for pretty cheap, but what would the actual swap cost me?
