auto trans wont shift

hi i have a 1990 yota pickup 4x4 automatic it quit shifting the other day i backed up an put the selector in drive and the truck wouldnt move it had been shifting rough so i thought the transmission was cooked got another transmission and installed it with new torq converter and still the same thing i can put the selector in any gear and it wont move new saftey neutral switch also my question is is there a transmission computer on the truck if so where or is it one with the ecu any help on this will be greatly appreciated

Yes there's a computer just in front of the shifter underneath the radio. Un-plug it, and it will force the transmission to run manually. 1 shifts 1, 2 shifts 3, and D shifts OD. That will allow you to narrow it down to mechanical or electrical.

the other day mine wouldn't come out of park unless i used the unlock button to shift into gear it was dark couldn't see . next mourning i took the cover off and cut away all the small filmy slips. low and behold some of them had broken and lodged between the lil pin

mine doesnt have any computer in front of the shifter under the radio i took everything out any other ideas im at a lose does the ecu control the transmission on this model?
