Lightbulb Auto-Starters on MT

Does anyone have a remote starter for their MT truck? I want to put one in and I have found several made specifically for MT. Do they automatically bypass the "Clutch-Start/Cancel" button? Also, these starters come with a lot of extras such as power lock activation; my DX is power nothing, does this matter? Anyway, it should be a good upgrade for Montana winters.

I dont believe the power lock things need to be hooked up to anything. Its probably cheaper to just get a starter though. Personally I always thought that a block heater would be a better investment. You leave your truck plugged in all night, and when you come out in the morning you start it right up, and have instant heat, and aren't dumping gas fumes out the exhaust

Sorry, no instant heat with a block heater.

Maybe with an inline water heater.

Any idea how and how much I could rig up something like that? I've got an idea, but I tend to over complicate everything. I really should learn to just keep it simple...

excuse me. more or less the same difference as far as im concerned. but thats correct the freeze plug style block heaters dont provide instant heat, its the inline radiator hose heaters.

I guess I just never understood why people couldn't go out and start their cars themselves

ps. heres an example of an inline water heater
