Is this any of you?

I saw this link on another forum and thought it was amazing how the rust ruined this truck.

I've heard of them folding on the trail, but never actually seen it happen. The closest I've seen was one in the local boneyard that had extensive rust on the frame. The metal was coming off in big chunky flakes. It was probably ready to fold up had it not been scrapped.

Read the thread - "so who covers that?? the truck being bent and all. does the dealership cover that ?? or does the owner have to cover that?? "

Try to convince an insurance adjuster that your neglected rusted out POS falling apart is an insurable loss... and people give me crap for being so adamant about people NOT buying trucks that are ALREADY rusty...

Aside from it being broke in half it looked like a fairly clean truck. Can you even imagine having the service manager take you back to the garage and seeing that.. Oh man I would cry.. of course I am under my rig all the time and would have hoped to have noticed something like that... that didn't happen overnight that's for sure.. Hmm wonder when the last time he was under there to grease his U-joints?.. Everyone does them every 7500 miles like the sticker on the visor says right....

You know, if he goes a head and puts a lazy susan in there at the bed he'd have one sweet trail flexing machine.

theres a pic going around the net of a brand new chevy that this happened to. On the chevy, there was way to much weight in the bed, and the arms of the lift weren't in the proper spot....im guessin the yota had a far amount of weight in the rear.......but damn thats some serious rust, I have some surface rust, but that there is some serious #$%&

EDIT: heres the pic of the chevy......

This is the only thing that pisses me off about Toyota. Most of the trucks in NY have frame rot pretty badly. All Toyota had to do is put holes at the bottom of the frame.

There are some holes but problem is more then just holes. The steel from the eighties was mostly recycled and a huge portion of the stuff that went into cars was from the decomissioned US Navy fleet so a lot of rust and such wasn't purged from that stuff.

On my 86 runner the frame was rusting from the inside out on the sides of the frame rails.
