Another CB radio 4Runner install

I've been planning on getting a CB for a while, but last last week after work I go to hop in my truck and find a card on my windshield from a local offroad group member. Joined the site, found out there was a meet on the 14th (today) so this pushed my CB install to the top of the list. Bought all the CB junk from RadioShack for a little over $100 on Wednesday. Uniden CB, 67" whip, mount, 20' co-ax cable, 20 ft of 12gauge wire and I was set. I installed it yesterday but got busy afterwards. Today I was supposed to go to that meet buuuuut I forgot to "spring" my clock ahead an hour so I missed it. Next time I guess.

I used some bolts I found lying around the house, a Simpson Strong-tie I also found in the garage and I bought two Simpson Strong-Tie L brackets from THD to mount the antenna.

The L Simpson Strong-Tie. I only needed one since they were so "strong"

The string on the rack is to hold it down when not in use.

Now I can talk to my house-mate over the CB because he has one in his Mazda 3 (in the background)

i think it looks good the way it is. i dont think your cb will fit in your ash tray anyway. i tried a cobra 19 ultra3, a uniden (like yours) and the radio shack trc-503, and none of them fit in my ashtray anyway.
