Another 3.0 or a 3.4

Another 3.0 or a 3.4
I have a 1990 4runner 3.0L and its got 0% compression in the #4 cylinder and a leak on the exhaust side. so pretty much should i just throw in another 3.0 or put in a 3.4. Would I have to do a ton of mods to put the 3.4 in? need advice.
