well i swapped a benz om617 in it and i had to get rid of a lot of the efi wiring and i machined brackets for my stock alternator to bolt up to the engine and it worked great for a couple months then my battery started dying all the time so i got a new one, still did it, bought a new alternator and it helped but didnt fix it. it seems when i have a fully charged battery the alt will keep it up to par and charged untill i start drawing power (headlights, interior lights) nothing aftermarket like a sound system or extra lights just running lights. it seemed to have started when i installed my electric fans. its just weird because there will be days the alt will work perfectly then ill shut my truck off and when i start it doesnt charge more than 11.9-12v

So you now have a Mercedes engine & modified your wiring harness & engine computer? I don't know what to tell you; there's no telling WHAT is wrong if that much has been changed.

yes i have a benz motor but i didnt mess with the harness at all. i just dont have the EFI crap pluged in. but the weird thing is that it worked for a good two months then i installed an electric fan and thats when it seems like it started havin issues.

Well there's nothing very interesting about the wiring coming from the alternator. I believe you have a large wire that goes to the battery, a positive wire that goes to the fuse block, a wire that goes to the idiot light on your dash, and a ground.
Whats interesting is that I have an electric fan that seems to effect the way the motor runs when I turn it on. I've been trying to figure out what that would be caused by. I know the fan pulls some amps, but this is ridiculous.
