I HATE with the passion of the 7th hell my Zoom purple. It was in the truck when I bought it. Grabby, hurts my knee after daily driving. It is coming out in the next month and getting replaced with stock Aisin.

I much prefer my Aisin OEM in my other trucks, trail riding and especially in daily drive traffic.

For the effort to r/r and to get another 100k+ miles I wouldn't skimp on my clutch, but that's me. I will never replace a clutch in a Toyota with anything but Aisin.

If you don't know the history, I'd replace the clutch, master and slave all at the same time. All OEM Aisin is under $200. What I am doing with Barney.

Ive got a Marlin crawler clutch in my runner. It feels like stock but it grabs when you need it to.

Here's how reliable toyota's are. When i bought my truck the PO said the clutch was slipping. I don't know how long it was slipping with him but i drove it 6000 miles before replacing it. When the mechanic took it out he laughed and was shocked i was still driving it.
Moral of that story is there is no rush. Do your research and pick the right clutch thats meant for you. Also when you do it replace everything like waskilly said. You'll be thankful.
I got the Aisin OEM replacement and i love it. It's a little soft for me but it does the job.

I'd replace it with an OEM AISIN unit and while your at it get a master and slave as well.

Consider the 1200lb Aisin from Marlin if you ever pull a trailer, though. It makes a big difference and still quite suitable for DD'g. Atleast, I think so. Otherwise, yeah....get one from Wabbit.

Here's the thing you will never hear something bad about one
I love mine, and everyone else loves theirs the only thing you will hear is "man I wish I got the higher pressure like a 1800 or 2100, cause this 1600 is as light as stock" The best clutches are Marlins

On towing, the stock clutch should be more than adequate for any average towing. If you are towing constantly everyday, then any clutch will probably have a similar life span.

I would NOT buy a new clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder just because I'm doing a clutch job. With that said, the guys I know that installed (only one time - way too grabby) a Centreforce, they blew their slave cylinder quickly. Because wheeled a lot, I had a spare clutch slave cylinder in my spare kit, just in case. I was on a trail with a buddy who had a new Centreforce, his slave crapped out, he had no clutch peddle. It was not an easy ride back home, especially getting out to the highway.

That's just my worthless opinion.
I used a stock for several years while towing. Not everyday towing, but enough to know what a difference the Marlin made once I put one in. A stock clutch is fine, but the Marlin does grab better.....lifespan aside. Can't comment on the lifespan, though, because I'm still running the Marlin and it's only been in a few years.
