The switch on the dash is stuck. You know what I mean? The slide mechanism on the dash panel that controls
letting exterior air into the cab or you can slide in to the left to just
re-circulate interior air. Well, I can't get it to slide back to the left. It
moves a wee bit but that is it. Of course I haven't reefed on it as I am afraid
of breaking something. Anyone have any ideas? Hopefully something simple.

 

Pull the panel. Your vent and heat/cool controls are mounted behind it. Could be something with the panel mechanism, cable issue, or blend door being stuck.
More often than not it is the slide mechanism behind the panel.

 

Can you tell me how to pull the panel? And by panel, I am assuming you mean the whole dash panel, right?

 

The four knobs on the dash controls pop off and then gently pry the faceplate off. A small hook would work well for this.

 

the heater core may have a cable operated coolant bypass mechanism along the firewall. It is there to keep coolant from circulating when no heat is desired or to allow coolant to flow when heat is desired. Maybe this will help... Kev
