Aftermarket steering wheel

I have a '91 4runner and I want to change my steering wheel. Problem is my cruise control buttons are on my stock steering wheel. Anybody got any ideas? I really hate the stock steering wheel but I drive a lot on the freeway so I don't wanna loose my cruise.

I havent pulled off the steering wheel yet. I imagine though that theres a contact reel under the steering wheel. thats how most steering wheel buttons work. that might make it kinda hard to relocate.

Yeah that could work. I would just have to figure out where to mount the buttons. seems like a pain though. I was hoping someone had made some kinda aftermarket box or something that I could install. I like plug and play. After wrenching all day the last thing I wanna do is dig into wiring. but I might not have much of a choice.

dunno if it will work, but a buddy in our car club has a scion xB 5 spd (dont come with cruise, only autos in 04) and he just got the cruise control box and the steering column switch from an 02 mazda protege... works flawlessly... maybe the same could work for you...
