Testing AFM, o2 and ECM with FSM
So I was bored and I decided to check a few things out, try to find my wandering idle problem...
First I checked my AFM
I used:
http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...92volumeai.pdf
I got:
Test 1: 343
Test 2: 279
Test 3: 1.81 - about 23 degrees celcius
Test 4: infinity
test 3 seems a little off... any thoughts?
Next I did my o2 sensor using:
http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...01heatedox.pdf
I got 6.5 - just for kicks I tested my brand new uninstalled NTK sensor, it gave me 6.6 I guess that was a waste of money!
Now I would like to test my ECM using:
http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...e/102engin.pdf
Just had a few questions on the tests:
1. "throttle opener must be cancelled first" What the heck is that?
2. "measuring plate must be fully closed/open" Uhmmm what?
Also, is the 93 fsm for the ecm usable for my 91?

So, I pulled the number 6 spark plug wire off the cap... no change in engine... Looks like that old crossthreaded spark plug needs some attention....
Still havnt tested the ECM, I think I need to test the coolant temp sensor, since it seems when my truck is sitting idling for awhile the idle will get lower... high rpms for awhile yeild a higher idle...
