aFe Pro Dry S air filter doesn't fit

I was pretty excited to drop in the new aFe Pro Dry S air filter that the mailman brought today. Excitement turned to frustration trying to get it installed. The old paper filter was a CA6690. This new aFe filter is a 31-10026 (according to the box, the filter has no numbers on it). I'm trying to put it in my 92 pickup with a 22re. Anyone else had the same problem? It seems like it is 1/4" too long, and I can't get the lid seated enough to put the retaining clips on again. Filter dimensions are 10.5" x 6.75" on the top side.

An aside: I just bought this pickup two weeks ago. These forums are awesome. I found one for my 04 Ford F250, and now this one for my "yo-yo" (what my 2 yr old calls it). I really appreciate those of you who have taken the time to share what you've learned about these trucks. I've got plans for the ZUK coil mod, corner blinker mod, and front and rear bumpers thanks to this site.

The one I have for my 3.4 swap fit just fine. I'm kind of suprised you're having issues.

Measure the old one, if they don't match up than the new one is wrong.
