Addicted Off-Road Bumper...MOUNTED!!!

hahaha i would NEVER take my truck on the road without insurance. My dad would not let me either. It is just not worth it. DC brings up a good point with the tires getting worn.
Those who said it was too heavy, when we chained it down and got it nice and tight on the trailer it came back about a foot or so and its not so heavy on the Tundra. O and that Tundra isnt even close to not wanting to move...its a beast. Thank you for the heads up though.

I was wondering if this bumper is strictly offroad use. I noticed that you dont have your turn signals connected. I am looking for something along these lines but i need to keep my turn indicators. Anyone know of a simillar bumper that has places for the signals? Or is there a way to integrate your signals into the running lights that are above?
BTW you have a kick ass looking runner. Sorry to jack your thread.

thanks man, its all good. well it can be onroad too and you can put your turn signals in the boles in the bumper. or you could integrate your turn signals into the parking lights and not have anymore seperate turn signals

Yeah X2!!!
Man I have got to look into this SE4RJ6 thing. Is it an annual event or a once in a while thing that you guys put together? If it's annual then I'm going to get geared up for next year and talk BigBlue into joining me so I can teach him how to wheel.
881st that bumper looks great! Be sure and take pictures while you're there and see if you can't get some rock rash on that stinger.

I can understand the no insurance thing. Its a street legal truck. I just couldnt figure out why it would be trailered. If you trailer its a trailer queen, whats the point of the roof rack??? It will jack up your CoG on the trail. Just fyi....
I actually kinda suprised to see so many people trailering street trucks otherwise. Kinda emabarrasing to own a toyota. I love going to a trail, wheel my truck and showing up some modded jeeps and then driving home while they are broke on their trailer.

The roof rack used to hold my spare when i drove it everyday, it only weighs maybe 10 pounds...not worried about that much weight, cant do too much damage.
Ok well you can consider it a trailer queen, i consider it peace of mind whether it has insurance or not so i can romp the hell out of it on the trails. As much as I would like to say the whole driving it there and back thing, i have 5.29s, detroit rear, lock-rite front, 5 speed, and a heavy right foot. Something is bound to get broken.
Embarrassing to own a Toyota?? It is being towed by another Toyota, its going to a TOYOTA ONLY EVENT, and I know damn well what the truck is capable of, and what it has been through. Dont try to insult me and my truck when you dont know a damn thing about what it has been through or what it is capable of.

I dont know what its capable of??? I guess that is a fair assumption. I currently have an 88 4runner as well. I have been wheeling it stock with sliders, 32 BFG MTs and a 3.4 swap using the original auto and 4.10s. I just recently add the Addicted bumper to the front and the rear bumper scotty sells too. I will be putting on a set of OME springs and shocks, just added bilsteins up front. I just put in a lockrite in the rear. Soon to go on is a set of 35x12.5 Trxus MTs on steelies will miinimal lift. Yeah fenders will be trimmed. Its not a DD but could be if I didnt have a company car but fun to drive on weekends and to family functions. I will be taking it on 1000 mile mini UA in june. Unlike the original UA, we will be wheeling. So trust me, I know what its capable of. I have buddies with 37s and 42s so I know what your truck has gone through. Im not trying to insult you.
Since this is probably your second or third time wheeling, when you learn how to wheel you will learn that you dont need a heavy right foot with lockers. When you are open its another story.
I also said I could understand you trailering it for insurance puproses. All you need is current tags and insurance and its perfectly capable of being driven on the street. I could understand if you had beadlocks with boggers, busted windshield, etc. then thats another situation wear the authorities might not want it on the street.
What I meant was Im just suprised to see that people trailer their trucks just because they have mud tires. Its not like these drivetrains cant handle abuse. Just suprised me to see people didnt realize that.
If I were ever take a trip out west for a week or two or to tellico like what was originally planned, I would trailer. Its not that my truck couldnt make it, but if Im doing a trip like that I would rather drive in something alittle more comfortable.

I have been wheeling this truck for about 3 years and have plenty of wheeling with it under my belt, but most of it is mud holes out here in Southeast. Out here you need A LOT of right foot to get through this slop.
Also, my truck has been an auto for most of the time when i was wheeling it and i am obviously much better at wheeling it with the auto rather thatn the standard shift transmission. Not to mention the idle likes to stay rather low so it can sometimes take a little bit of persuasion with the right foot to get it going good.
I see what youre saying about putting insurance, but the trailer is our good friend's and we can borrow it anytime and it allows us to save money instead of having to pay for insurance (since I'm in college and am driving a commuter car). I know for sure that my driveline could handle the drive and get 20 mpg at the same time with no prob, just dont want to do that to it. I have 232,000 on my stock unrebuilt 3.0 and dont want to stress like i said earlier (kinda contradictory when i say im going to wheel it lol).
Yes, the Tundra is VERY comfortable to ride in and even when that trailer and my truck connected to it, the Tundra barely knows it. That truck is BAD TO THE BONE. Plus rolling up in a new Tundra with a built 4Runner on the back just looks sooo BA

Sorry about the misunderstanding, I hope all is good now.

What if he doesn't DD the truck? Insurance and tags wouldn't be worth it then. And again, with the price of tires for these trucks, why would you spend 90% of your time wearing them off on the highway?
Again i go back to breakage. If you break something on the trail, you have a way to get your rig out and back home. The number of rigs I have seen left and stripped, i would never ever leave my truck on the trail. Its not JUST jeeps that break on the trail you know. Our Toyotas are not "godly" next to a jeep. I know people like to play up the rivalry, but there IS a reason companies like Bobby longs exist.

I dont want to break, but if i do, we can get it on the trailer and get it home safely and not have to jerrry rig anything together to make it back. hahaha nice about the longfields, i got a chuckle out of that
