ADD bypass

I have a 93 4runner 3.0 5 speed manual and would like to manually bypass the ADD system. I don't like that it disconnects I reverse and would like to put a switch in to manually turn it on as needed. Is it a simple 12 volt solenoid that I can just divert 12v too?

The Toyota manual. So if it does not disconnect then maybe you can help with wiring it. I am in the process of swapping from an auto to a 5 speed manual and having trouble finding the wiring diagram, but it seems I should be able to just connect the wires from the auto trans harness to the manual sensor. Would that be correct? Although the auto has three wires, one for the H4 and one for the L4 with a source as the third wire. The manual sensor is just open in H2 and closed in all other positions. I would guess I could just use the L4 wire and the source wire for the manual to activate the ADD.

Please link to any Toyota FSM page that states this.

Methinks that you confuse ADD with the earlier Aisin "Automatic" hubs

It is simple to permanently lock the ADD in and use manual hubs.

Also possible to substitute a Non-ADD long side axle and housing from an earlier IFS front. Manual hubs required then also..
