So I went into start the truck today and it started up and ran awesome with all 4 cylinders working for about 1-2 minutes. Then it started to miss (chug) on cylinders 2 and 3. I tried using a test light on the injector wires to see if they flashed but I didn't see any difference between the injectors... After the chugging started I unplugged those two injectors and it went back to the same idle as in the video. I then tried another ECU and it did the same thing. So does this mean it is my injectors itself?

Is it possible that banks 3 and 4 are swapped?

The wires to the injectors? It would be 2 and 3 but it ran fine a couple weeks ago and I haven't done anything that would have removed or replaced them... I highly doubt it.

I guess I am going to pull the injectors and have them tested and ultrasonic cleaned... Does anyone have any tips on removing the intake manifold and fuel rail??? Or any reason why I shouldn't? Thanks

does it look like you can get the rail out without taking the intake off? you were able to get in there and unhook the wires. If you could switch those around with 1 & 4. This way you know for sure it's the injectors. Compression test it as well. So far you really have done nothing to test anything and your gonna throw money at it.

FSM says I have to remove the intake and throttle body... Believe me I don't want to! I could just get in and unhook the wires but there is not chance I can remove the rail. The truck started and ran with ALL 4 cylinders twice today... but the first time it ended up bogging down a touch and losing those 2 cylinders again. The second time I just got in it and drove it from my father-in-law's garage to my house next door... no issues then but I didn't even dare warm it up. I tried switching the ECUs and got the same results so I don't see how it can be anything but the injectors just getting stuck open...

if they are sticking open then why do they not stick open when the engine is cold?

That is just it, today they did not stick open until it warmed up and then it started going crazy. But not only does the engine need to be cold, there needs to be time for all that fuel to evaporate around those two plugs. Also, my oil is starting to smell like fuel (because I am assuming the injectors are stuck dumping fuel in there)...

Now I am really confused! If I go out and start the truck it will run on all 4 cylinders (seems like a HIGH idle) for about 1-2 minutes and then start surging... But not like before when it clearly flooded out 2 of the cylinders. Thoughts?

if its an efi diesel mate sounds like fuel pump timing is out might of slipped a few degrees out. likely the case if you have changed belt/chain recently mines a 2.4td 2lte and when i replaced head gasket the timing was a complete ball ache and my prob was pump timing and a leaky injector which seemed to be bodged got new inj and timing sorted pulled like a frieght train.

just relized mate, seems plugs are not firing which id say was down to dizzy ht leads. but if your sure there on the right plugs its gota be overfueling have ya checked the spray pattern of the injectors? if the spray pattern is good the fault is before the injectors. you said the inj where wet what was on the inj oil/fuel/coolant mixture of all 3? the reason i ask could id the prob easyer eg
fuel only= over fueling = timing
oil/oil fuel= compression= piston rings or piston sleeves
oil,fuel,coolant/water= head gasket
if any oil is found try dropping oil and look for any metal filings in the oil or on your sump plug if there is you got piston problems and the rings/sleeves could be warm or broken.

I mean the spark plugs. Switched at the cap or even the plugs themselves?
