A340E Transmission Questions
Well I had my transmission "rebuilt" at a trans shop...cost a lot so I figured more would have been done...The O/D light still doesnt come on at all but shifts through all 4 gears fairly well...burnt bulb maybe?? MY speedometer gauge does not work at all either.
At a dead stop when I shift to Drive it clunks very hard and the driveshaft wiggles quite a bit with an odd feeling either from the trans or the rear axle...
When accelerating vibrations occur at various speeds..I have searched for hours on the web and am having a very hard time diagnosing the issues. just trying to get some help...

You should give us a list of everything you have checked so we know what to suggest.
-First thing I would look at is excessive play in the drive shaft u joints. A common worn down part which causes drive Line vibrations.
-how is your transmission mount? Engine mounts? List can go on and on and on and on

ok good idea...although I will cut to the chase and say that I had a couple guys who build a lot of race cars look on our lunch break...we laid under while a buddy shifted through the gears. It's the ujoint! I bout a new one and will install it this weekend...actually I'm going to replace front and rear ujoints so I dont have to worry about the other going out. hope it goes smooth.
advice on grease able ujoints? I bought the 8.99 and figured if they lasted 2 years or more than I'm not gonna sweat it buying 27 dollar joints. I dont do a lot of offroading at all and treat it like I want to see 300k on the dash. I bet i will need a valve job cuz they make a lot of noise! pisses me off!
Well here's a vid to show whats goin on...

This was my problem!!!! the hard clunk when shifting to drive at a dead stop was simply a bad U-Joint at the transmission....I guess the worse they get the harder they are to take out! fix them asap and be sure to grease well...I was cheap and payed 8.99 for a non grease-able U-joint but whatever...I'm sure it will last me a few years and I now know the signs to replacing them.
