Question 95 4runner OD

I have a 95 4 runner, and it doesn't shift into OD going down the road until things get heated up I guess? Sometimes this can take up to 5-6 miles. Is there anything I can do to over ride this? Is this a common problem? Thanks in advance for the info.

Yep, normal. If it seems to be getting worse, or is just too long, try changing your t-stat, checking your fan and temp sensor.

I third that and agree. Mine kicks in after 1 mile on the road. It just has to warm up. I don't have the schematic of the selenoids but I bet it's easy to place a switch in-line.
