94runner clutch problem!!!
i have a 94 runner and the clutch went out on me. I had a real bad oil leak that may have caused corrosion on the clutch itself , but other than that i have no idea why it went out. I have made some calls and I know some people and my plan is to have it replaced. before i did that i figured i would ask if anyone else has had this problem or if i can get some tips on brand name clutches that i should use. i need help guys i would appreciate some feedback thanks!

I would go with a oem clutch I put a center force clutch in my 2wd truck and after 9000 miles it started to chatter and make noise at about 10000 it started to slip I took it out and it was fried. the truck had 160000 on the stock clutch and that piece of s**t clutch only went 10000 miles. GO OEM AND YOU WONT HAVE A PROBLEM

If the clutch pedal bracket is cracked at the firewall it means that the brace on the upper rear of that bracket has broken loose from the dash. That is the root cause of the broken clutch pedal bracket. I fixed my '90 4runner with 216,000 miles by effectively replacing that brace on the back of the clutch pedal bracket.
I have heard reports of dealer repair costs upwards of $1,000 to fix this problem. I have a permanent solution that costs less than $5.00 and has already been done on an '89 truck and '90 4runner. ***deleted****

if you ask me, this is pretty weak, michel. there are many people here that share invaluable information for free---this is what the forum is all about. i am sure you've gotten some great, free advice here, yet you charge $20 for yours?
remind me, and anyone else who feels the same way, to charge you for answers to your questions
EDIT:

doing a little more research, michel, you are charging the members $20 for advice you were given FOR FREE.

seems on 4/21/05, you posted a question about the used '90 4runner you bought with a problem with your clutch pedal. 7 replies later, you got your answer. shortly after in at least three threads i've counted already, you got the nerve to advertise the fix (but not mentioning you charge $20) for it. way to profit off free advice, michel

I have had 3 trans go because of the input bearings going out of them. On one of them, the bearing was just starting to go and some trans oil was leaking onto the clutch which will burn to it. This will screw the clutch plate in no time. Make sure your tranny is not leaking out the front seal or your new one will not last long.
