well i just finished putting the old yota back together and it shifts real smooth now. the trans was popping out of gear, especially fourth. i replaced the clutch master cylinder and the slave and it was no better. thought it might be clutch or trans going bad but a little research and the trans shifter lower ball seat was mentioned. went to the dealer with vin number and order the small ball on end of shifter but the seat was not on the diagram.. came home and took shifter apart and what was left of the lower seal was in 100 peices..back to dealer to order part but used part number 33505-35020(i think its for the 4wd trucks,mines a 2wd). part fit like a charm..couple of hints.. use a pair of snap ring pliers to get shifter cap off,, you will struggle endlessly until you have the pliers and takes a second with them. fill the trans thru the shifter hole--lot easier while you have it open--the shifter boot comes off without messing the carpet up too much but putting it back on requires a small slice in carpet to get it to go on,,cant see it once its back together..13.00 for seal beats a 1500 trans..figured i pass the info on,, good idea to replace as a preventive measure..

 

Most go with the Marlin Crawler seat & socket for even less shifter slop.

 

I was going to go with the marlin..actually called them,but the 12buck fedex shipping killed me..
