94 Power steering I've tried everything

Replaced steering box, flushed and bleed, pump worked at first then stopped working. Replaced pump, flushed and bleed, worked briefly and quit. No whining or anything from the pump, it's flushing fluid

possible issues
faulty new pump??
tiny air bubbles still in system??
Not getting enough pressure?

Should I jus keep rotating the wheel back and forth for days and hope?

Help I love my girl

Try it w the front end jacked up, try it w one side up. Probably another bad pump tho. Just read all the posts at the bottom and it sounds like it happens a lot. Try a toyota pump. Use atf. good luck, posts your results please!

A lot of reman stuff these days is junk. I agree to try a better quality one. I have used Maval steering racks a few times and they seemed to be high quality. I think they also do pumps. Other than that, you can try installing a small filter in case one of the pumps released metal shavings into the system. I have also had the problem of not adding fluid fast enough and it gets a lot of air in it. It takes a while to settle, and then needs to be bled again. Usually the pump makes noise at that point, though.

i had a similar problem where my power steering would sometimes not work as strong as it should have. i had brand new steering gearbox, new pump and reservoir and new hoses, and new belt.

my problem was the new belt was a tad to big. there’s a post on here where someone found the perfect fitting belt with the part number. i tried it and it fixed my problem. just some belt slippage.

Put a brand new

Napa pump in... Twice. Brakes are also squishy, is it possible the ABS actuator which uses power from the power steering pump isn't working? Is it possible the TVV has failed?

This last time I replaced it today and it worked til I got down the road than failed again... WTF is happening?! Haha

I have not messed with those power steering controlled ABS actuators much, so I do not have much personal experience with them, but after doing some reading it looks like there is a special bleeding procedure that needs a SST to be done properly. I am sure with some research there is a shade-tree way of doing it. It would be worth a try before exchanging more parts.
