94 clutch problem
ok so yesterday i picked up a clean 94 toyota pickup 2wd 22re 5spd with 189k miles. the good is that the guy i bought it from bought it from the original owner that ran it up to 180k and it jumped timing and the guy i bought it from but a new head with new valves, new timing chain/guides, new water pump, new radiator, and replaced a good bit of steering and suspension parts. When i got it the fan seemed like it was running in high gear way to much so I replaced the fan clutch today and it seems alot better. I also today checked the tranny fluid and rear diff fluid which looked new and full. so on to my problem. If im in 4th or 5th gear just cruisin and i stab it, it sometimes feels like the motor is reving fast and the truck isnt going like it should. you also have to let the clutch pedal almost all the way up before it starts moving. if you hot rod it and shift through the gears fast it does mine and will reach 100mph. it also has no slipping in 1-3. it seems to do it more in 4th than 5th. could it be the slave cylinder or am i going to have to put a new clutch in it? it shifts fine and is easy to go into gear.
