94 4Runner overheating?

I have my 94’ 4Runner, it’s an old truck, I also live in Utah and temps have been getting up to almost 100° lately, I’ve noticed after about my 20 minute drive to work everyday that the motor is getting really hot, I don’t think it’s overheating because the temp is staying at the right place, i believe it has the factory radiator but I don’t think it should be getting extremely hot

If the temp gauge is functioning properly, and not indicating any high temp of the engine, what makes you think the engine is getting hot? With hot air temps outside, if you pop the hood right after you arrive at work, yeah, it'll feel like things are hot. They are hotter than the winter, as the air isn't cooling external parts like it does when the air is colder. But once again, if you're sure the temp gauge is working correctly, and indicating normal engine temps, you should trust it. IE: believe that the cooling system is doing it's job.

When was the last time you flushed and refilled the radiator with new coolant? When was the radiator last changed? Or the fan clutch? Does the fan clutch blow air when the engine gets hot? You can hear it, it makes a "whooshing" sound.

Or am I not understanding the question?
