94 4Runner - Idle and Acceleration Hesitation

Hello All

My daughter purchased over a year ago a 94 4Runner with a 3.0L V6 (3VZE) engine and a A340H Automatic Transmission.

I need assistance on determining what could be causing this problem - thank you...

This truck was severely neglected when we had bought it and have since poured about $2,500 into it to make it a reliable transportation.

What we are currently experiencing is:
  • Sporadic rough idle
  • Sporadic hesitation (lack of power) when driving - no set speed where this happens and sometimes it does this and sometimes there are no problems.

Here is a list of parts I have installed since we started:
  • Major Tune-Up Items
  • Cold Start Module/Switch
  • Fuel Pressure Damper
  • Fuel Pressure Regulator
  • EGR Valve
  • EGR Temperature Sensor
  • Radiator, Hoses and 180* Thermostat
  • Fuel Pump
  • Fuel Filter
  • Transmission Solenoids
  • Throttle Position Sensor
  • ECM
  • Kickdown THrottle Detent Cable Assembly

Any Help will be greatly Appreciated.
Andrew

How many miles on it? Something that intermittent could me a worn out distributor bearing. Certain speeds and torque values cause it to wobble.

My Issue with that was a cracked air tube. It was under the throtle body and didn't see it till I took it off. $20.00 on e-bay and it idles smooth and acually has power now. Oh, and got 3 more mpg too boot!
But also look at other vacuum lines. Any that are cracked will also cause issues.

The vehicle has 140,000 miles on it.

What tube under throttle body are you referring to?

I'm also experiencing something along those lines with my 86...I had a couple bets and looked down at the engine. . . My throttle cable is very loose. .. took me ages to figure that out

With my limited knowledge I'd say it is probably a thing or two that needs some tightening. And ya look for little cracks here and there. . . I'm using dictator on my intake while I wait for some parts
Good luck

Sounds like a vacuum leak...maybe a dirty throttle body, or a clogged cat.
