Hey just bought a 93 toyota. 370k, and I'm 95% sure the rings are gone and burnin oil like a mofo. I'm new to these trucks and getting work done to em. Going to change out the motor in the near future and was wondering if it's wise to replace the motor with the same. Or maybe swap something different. Just spitballin

5vzfe 3.4 swap!

Produces ~25% more power w/ same fuel economy. Less vacuum more electrical. Double overhead cam vs single on 3vze. 3vze crankshaft is cast vs it being forged... Can actually support supercharging... Mechanics are familiar w/ that engine (3vzes are becoming increasingly rare -- or at least mechanics unwilling to do valve adjustments and other more involved maintenance.) Etc, etc.

Lots of info on it. The swap costs about the same as a 3vze replacement.

How much adjusting would I have to do being that' it's a different motor; ex. Wiring, and er mounting of any parts? Same tranny fit? And what do they usually come out of?

did you try checking the stickies and doing a search? i'm sure some have posted what they did. i'm fine with the 3.0 it can work as hard as my automatic tranny can.
