93 slow rpm varies

93 slow rpm varies
ive got a 93 3slow and the engine just doesn't stay at the proper rpm at idle. it goes up to like 1500 rpm then i lower it to 1,000 rpm by screwing in the throttle body screw. a few mins of stop and go driving it goes back to either 1,000 to 600rpm. any help will be greatly appreciated.
