93 pickup 3vze speedo wiring?

like the title says i have a 93 sr5 v6, i bought it used about a year and a half ago. i love the truck but my speedo doesnt work, and didnt work when i bought it. i figured at the time of buying it i could just replace a part but its proving to be way harder than i thought thanks to the lack of info online.

whats wrong is the three wires that come from the Tcase were torn off at one point, so the last owner spliced wires onto it. but he never plugged the new wires into the speedo (im pretty sure thats where it goes) so they are dangling around doing nothing. i cant for the life of me find a diagram that makes any sense and isnt totally inaccurate

this one makes no sense, and is even backwards when you compare it to the actual thing.

does anyone here know where to plug those three wires in? or atleast point me to a good diagram?

I'm not going to be able to help you much, but here's a start:
http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1990-1995...e/combinat.pdf

As you've noticed, almost all of the manuals for this vehicle show the speed sensor as a magnetic reed switch inside the combination meter, even though for ours it is the 3-terminal hall-effect sensor in the back of the transfer case. The page cited is the only place I've ever seen a description of the correct way to diagnose that sensor.

But the rest of that page again implies the speed signal is taken FROM the combination meter.

Let us know what you find out.

i figure im going to have to (re) tear it all apart, put the rear end up on something so the tires can spin and just try sticking the wires in different places until it works
