93 4runner torque converter HELP
Im installing a new engine & torque converter in my girlfriends 4runner (93 V6) that I got her for the snow. I bought a new one from the auto parts store, and after a while of trying to install it I realized that the input shaft is 26 splines and the torque converter is 20 splines! From the door code the 4runner has the A340 transmission. But when I go to buy a torque converter from the auto parts stores, they only have the 20 spline. I managed to find 26 spline converters online for the A340, but I want to make sure I get the correct one. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great, thanks!

what store did you go to? it's not uncommon for stores to inventory the wrong part. had to go back twice trying to get motor mounts when i was repairing my '94 subaru wagon. it was an "in between" year model when factory parts were being redesigned
as well, there is another letter after the A340. should be perhaps an "H"? did you specify that to the store attendant? no expert on these transmission, but it could have some bearing
