93 3.0 pickup No Crank, No start, No nothing! Help!

Hi everyone I am new as a member but have been around the forum for awhile. Great forum, has been very helpful on many occasions, thanks.
Here is my problem. I was having a problem with my wipers not turning off, we replaced the emergency brake cable and since we were there decided to "fix" the wipers. We finished all the repairs, went to crank the truck and nothing happened. I have all electrical functioning, just nothing from start. Battery is 12.8 volts, battery to the block is 12.8v. All fuses are good. I have power to the Cancel switch but nothing on the red/black wire to the clutch start switch and beyond. Sounds easy but I cant find what is causing the problem. Wipers are now turning off, go figure. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The Clutch Start Switch GROUNDS the Black-Red wire to close the Starter Relay. Therefore, you will only see any voltage on that switch when it is a) open and b) the key is in the STArt position.

I would start with the Starter Relay. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...switch-287859/ Just pull it out, and check for 12v on pin 1 (the STArt signal from the ignition switch), ground on pin 2 THROUGH the Clutch Start switch. While you're at it, you might as well check that the relay is good. http://web.archive.org/web/201102051.../2starterr.pdf

Checked the Switch, no voltage with the key in start or with the button pressed. Replaced the Starter relay EFI Relay and the ignition? relay. Still nothing. I can hear a small click from the EFI relay.

Why? Were they defective?

Replacing parts willy-nilly will bankrupt you before you ever stumble into the problem.

I've suggested where you can check for voltage driving the starter relay. If you have (for instance) a bad ignition switch you can replace relays until the cows come home with no effect.

The Clutch Start switch GROUNDS the relay. I wouldn't expect to find voltage on it (except in the case where the switch is open and you're picking up voltage THROUGH the relay coil).

Checked starter relay, it's good. When we check the fuse block pin 1 and 2 has -mV and climbing with key in start. pin 3 and 5 have 13.12 volts

Have you in the past have had any need to turn the key more than once to get it to crank? The starter contacts do wear with each start and eventually do not make a good contact. Maybe an overpriced $20 part. A five minute job to swap out once you do succeed in getting the starter motor out. A couple hour job through the wheel well.

I have had a starter relay go bad, but it also gave some warning with balkiness.

Good luck!

Thanks for your help. We have finally figured it out! Apparently a past owner wired another relay under the dash with a jump wire to the windshield wipers for power. We could not figure out what that was about and could not get it to work the way they had it wired. We just removed the extra relay and went back the way it came from Toyota and everything works!!!!!. Even other things in the electrical system that never worked, work now! Thanks again
