93 22re cranks won't start
#1
Just drove my 93 22re with about 197,000 miles on it from Oregon to SoCal about had no issues at all I park it. The next morning I come out start it (starts up perfectly) then I turn it off because the store I was going to go to doesn't open until later. Come back and like 2 hours later. No start just cranking can crank for as long as I want with foot all the way down on the gas still just cranks.
Starter cranks over and it sounds like it always does when it's going to start but just keeps cranking doesn't ever catch. A neighbor pulled one of the spark plug wires off while I cranked it and it was sparking. I jumped the fp to B+ because I replaced that relay a couple months ago, and same thing cranks but never catches. put a new 15 amp ef1 fuse in still the same.
Pretty big noob when it comes to more technical stuff like this so I'm really lost. Bad fuel pump ? fuel filter got clogged ? Just feels like it can't be that major because I just started it couple hours ago and it was normal and it has never really had any issues other than a fuse or relay here and there
For the past couple months after I took the intake plenum of to clean (wasn't really very dirty what I assume was a normal amount of build up) it sometimes would catch and then sputter and die immediately when warm, and then start right back up at the slightest turn of the key. after a while I figured out that if I just cranked it for like a split second stopped and then crank it would start and not die when warm. Not sure if that's helpful, it was never really an issue so I didn't think much of it, but might be a clue to what's going on now ? Always started perfect when cold though. which leads me to think this might have something to do with the cold start injector.
Any help is appreciated
Update: went out to mess with it today and the dash lights came on, but would not crank at all, took a look at the wire that runs from the battery to the fuse box and it doesn't look great. I think this may have just shorted out completely, because the past couple of weeks I had to turn the key and hold it there for a good 1-3 seconds before it even started cranking didn't think about it until now.
