91 toyota 22re

hello all, i bought a 91 and the motor stacked a rod bearing. this truck will be drove every once and awhile. i'll prolly play in the mud and in the mountain but if it had to be i'd like it to be able to be a every day driver. so my question is are there any upgrades to the motor that i should do?

That depends on what kind of playing you do. You can go from mild to wild. If you do a cam upgrade remember that they usually move your horsepower to a higher rpm range, and torqe can suffer. My advise, start off with a stock rebuild, add a header and throw in some lower gears. Welcome to YOTATECH, and good luck!

What size tires are you running?

31's 4.10's

33's 4.88's

35+ 5.29's

it's got some wore out 31's now but i'd like to put some 33's on it. i owned a 87 a long time ago. these 22r's, are they purdy tough in stock form? i found a wrecked complete truck with a 22 rte in it. would it be worth buying that truck and getting motor and computer out of to put in mine. i think i can get it for $500.
