'91 HVAC Blower Switch

The blower switch on my truck has been kind of messed up since I've had it. It used to not work at all, but I ghetto rigged it up with jb weld and zip ties, and now have off and full blast. From the looks of the switch it seems to, at one point, had more options. The truck is pretty much the base model, but does have AC. So I have a couple questions:

1. Does this switch have more options than, on/off (see pic of my switch below).

2. If it does have more options, can I use this switch from HF (Two three-position on/off/on toggles) to get at least Off/Low/High?

Thanks,
Mitch

I think if you'll search just a tad you'll see this is a known issue and easy fix.

I got the whole AC control setup on ebay. All I needed was the blower switch. I lucked out and the switch worked perfect. I just pulled the control out far enough to unsnap the old switch and put in the replacement switch.

I know this is an old thread but I must be missing something. How do I remove the blower switch without breaking any retainer tabs.

Ok, figured it out. I slides straight back. There is a lock tab on top of the switch holding it from sliding. Also the bulb is not a twist lock just snaps in.

Not even sure if my old switch was completely out. So keeping it for a spare. It would work sometimes on med low ,med high, then just on high. But if I pushed down on the switch in the lower speeds it would work. I took it apart and it was full of dirt. Cleaned it up and put tension on the spring. Then put some dielectric grease in it. Now if I ever need one hopefully be able to find my old one...

Mine was shot. It had no click between the speeds, so I would have to slide it slowly until it would blow, and if I hit a bump it would slip off its spot and stop. PIA if you where driving and having to jack with it. I cussed it everyday during the summer. LOL
