Hey guys I'm new to the Toyota 4Runner but definitely not new to Toyota (I have had an MK3 supra for quite a while)
Anyways, I have a question, I bought a 91 4runner 3VZE with what I believe is the R150F manual transmission and I am unsure what fluids I can use to change the trans fluid out. I am aware of MT90 (a pain to get without ordering) but all other 75w-90 states that they are GL-5 which is too slippery. What have you guys used and is there an alternative to the Redline MT90? I am ordering some soon but if there is something that I can find locally ai will use it to hold me over.

Awesome, I was worried that it would cause problems shifting. If the bottles states that it has Limited Slip additive is it still safe to use?

That's fine. In my experience with GL-4 the difference is barely noticeable. And generally speaking not worth the extra cost. I used to think so. But I've all but given up on the notion. Then again I've never used the redline "magic sauce". Probably never will either. Since it's DEFINITELY not required.

Seems like my plugs have an aluminum gasket.
They should be reusable.
I am able to get Euro-spec GL-4 from a wholesale oil products place for less than $70 for a 5 gallon pail.

Turns out I'm wrong on the no gasket. Change that to a none required. I've got 3 R150Fs and 2 VF1As. None have gaskets on the fill or drain plugs. None leak a drop without them. I've seen the aluminum gasket. For whatever reason the rear diff on my 90 still has one on the fill plug(only one I've ever seen on a fill plug). And every diff drain plug I've ever seen has one.
Went to start my truck this morning and when I let off the clutch the truck stalled while in nuetral, any ideas?
