91 4runner starter wire plug

Starter wire plug connector needed
I have a 1991 4runner SR5 V6 4WD automatic. A few months ago we changed the starter and we discovered that the wire with plastic connector that snaps into the starter housing was bad. We cut it off and installed a stake on lug. This works temporally but sometimes looses conductivity from vibration and I want to replace the plug with the correct part. I have been told by Toyota that I would have to purchase the entire harness as they do not offer the connector plug separately. I have been unable to find anything about this connector. The local parts guy said that if I got a number from the plug he might be able to help me. We threw it away. Does anyone know of anything like a replacement plug?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

u might be able to look up something on ebay sometimes the guys that ship from china have those parts and are cheap. or go to local wrecking yard and get it, wont be more than 2.00-3.00 bucks for just that wire and clip. then just connect it to ur harness and call it good...

I assume the plug would be the same on an automatic or manual truck? I have a 1990 3.0/Manual truck I am using for parts for an auto to manual tranny swap. If it's the same plug you are welcome to it.

All you need is a female spade connector it is a common item get the insulated kind.

I replace them all the time and also make the wire longer that way I can disconnect the wires once the starter is lowered down.

I solder a uninsulated butt connector and heat shrink the splice.

When ever a starter comes down on my Toyota vehicles i do this never had any issues.

If you need a picture I will be glad to take one for you.
