91 4runner Project

Hey everyone. I have a 1991 4runner, 3 inch lift on 32's. This was a beautiful truck until I rolled it. I only did damage to the roof. No mechanical or frame damage, just dents in the roof. I am really wanting to put roll cage inside and chop off the roof. You know like a removeable hard top like the old broncos. let me know what you think. I see alot off chopped 4runners but none of them have a removeable roof. Just looking for some more advice.. Thank You

You're absolutely certain the frame didn't bend at all? The only reason I ask, is because I'm finding that my frame is a little tweaked. Apparently, it was that way when I bought it. The mechanic that looked at it before I bought it didn't notice it, and neither did I.

It has become more apparent in rebuilding the front end with new parts, that things aren't quite perfect.

Also, I've realized that the body is sitting a little off to the passenger side. I really wish I knew the whole story on my truck.

Anyway, my point is to take a very close look at it to rule out any problems down the road, before you invest a lot of money into it.

I hope all is well with it. I think the roll cage and chopped top would be sweet. You've got a great looking ride, so I wouldn't do that to one without any damage, but since the roof is already damaged, why not? Out of curiosity, do you plan on rolling it again?

Welcome to yotatech!! Too bad about your truck....

My buddy just rolled his 85 off a 300ft embankment:

We did a full body swap, the frame was intact. Only mechanical damage was a pinhole leak in the radiator, and a pinched A/C condenser tube.
Hopefully yours is ok too!

Wow! That's IMPRESSIVE! Was your buddy or anyone else in it at the time? I guess everyone's OK? Looks super lucky that the driver side didn't get smashed like the passenger side.

Yeah his dog was in it lol but he bailed as soon as the truck started to go. The cab and bedsides were done...but the tailgate was perfect lol.

It was ready for the paint booth too....not a ding on her. I think he pulled some muscles and tweaked his neck from hanging on to the steering wheel for his life haha. But for the most part, he was ok.

Wow that white truck got it bad.. Im glad the guy made it without any harsh injuries. Yea im positive my frame is good. The roof I just hate looking at the dents. I am just trying to figure out the most practical and less expensive way that I could fix it.
