have you checked for any trouble codes stored by the ECU?

if no codes, check the condition of your spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor and air filter and verify your timing and idle speed. if you've still got a problem then maybe a valve adjustment is needed. also, a check for vacuum leaks may be a good idea as well.

Man this is a common problem believe it or not..caused me to rebuild my engine which didn't fix it..so I put in a V6 and that done the trick...I replaced fuel pumps, distributors, Throttle position sensors, ECU's, o2 sensors, thermostats, set the valves a litle tight, a little loose. AFM's, nothing ever worked....

mine was doing this i put a fuel filter on it a seemed to fix it,... but i did end up putting a fuel pump in about a month latter and found a bunch of trash in the tank,

so i'd try a fuel filter and check the fuel pressure
