90 or 91 4runner Q

Did Toyota make the 90 or 91 4runner without the rear tire carrier?

I believe the rear carrier was only for the 31" tire option. Might be wrong though.

could you post a pic of the back end? I am trying to find out if one of these from ebay will fit my 92. Toyota says there was a change up in 92 but everythin on a 91 looks the same except for the rear tire carrier brace inside & the missing holes for the rear license plate trim. ebay has this one but it says only to 91 - Am I missing something here???

I dont see why it wouldn't fit, my 94 has a 91 tailgate with a tire carrier. I did notice that some of the license plate holes where not there, but then again the 90/91 with the tire carrier has it's plate holder on the swingarm.

Yep, you have to go custom on a swing out tire carrier

On the runners with the swing out the back up lights are moved and the licence plate hole are moved left and then the guides for the tire cariers bolt onto those. basiclly the only difference is where the lights and holes are and then the holes for the body mount.
