90 4runner speedometer

so here is the deal, just bought a 90 4runner v-6 manual tranny that grenaded a connecting rod. Rebuilt it, drove it, runs good, but I have no speedometer, nor a working odometer or tripometer. I haven't taken apart the instrument cluster yet and was wondering is it a mechanical speedo or electrical. any and all help is greatly appreciated especially if you know where parts are located on the vehicle

Even if it is electronic, still sounds like the speed sensor is disconnected. Look behind the engine and on top and sides for disconnected wires, or a cable hanging loose.

Could be true.
The pic I posted above was of our 91 2wd with mechanical speedo, though.
