I put in a Sony cd/radio in my 1990 4 runner. (It had no radio in it when I got it.) I read about the rear speaker problems and have it fixed now when I play a cd. However, when I try to listen to the radio, the antenna will go up, but I get nothing but static on the speakers. The antenna wire is plugged in the back of the HU correctly, but still no music. This is in FM and AM. Cd player works like it should. I'm stumped. Thanks in advance.

 

Is the reciever brand new or used? If you're sure the antenna is all plugged in, maybe the tuner is faulty in the radio? Do you have another reciever to swap out to test?

If it were mine, I wouldn't care if the radio worked or not. There's never anything good on the radio anyway!

Im gonna have to say you have a faulty receiver. even with no antenna I still get some signal..

 

I'm probably gonna replace the unit. It's kinda old. It came out of my truck that gave up the ghost. And I agree, most of the time, nothing good on anyway. I need to upgrade to a better unit with mp3 input anyway. Thanks.
