89 Rear main seal replacement

I will be having my rear main seal replaced sometime in the upcoming month. I haven't called any shops yet, but roughly how many man hours or how much $ to replace is this typically? Is there anything else I should do while it's out? Would it be easier to put headers in while this is being done? Thanks.

Bryan

All that has to be done is the shop will have to pull the tranny to get at the seal. From what I've heard its not so bad to do yourself in a day with standard tools.

You might want to consider putting in a new clutch, if your's has some miles on it. It's a lot easier and cheaper while the tranny is out than doing it later.

It's an Automatic transmission, so I'm not sure if there's anything I need to replace while it's down.

Front tranny (torque convertor) seal for future insurance? If you don't mind replacing some fluid, that is.
