I have an 89 4runner that's running sluggish until I pour gas into the throttlebody then it planes out until I stop pouring gas. Anybody got any suggestions.

 

fuel filter is what i would try first

 

The quickest and easiest thing would be to check and or change the fuel filter. Then I would check that you are getting good fuel flow from the tank. The sock on the fuel pump can get covered in hard shell not allowing enough fuel to the pump in worse case scenarios. The fuel systems can get dirty on these trucks depending on what part of the country you live in. Mostly humid areas from what I have seen.
