89 4runner dash and auto shift light problem

hey everyone iv been attempting to fix my electrical problem for my 89 runner and was wondering if anyone had the same problem before. First off the shifter light that lights up the PRND21 on the shift hasnt been working for as long as i can remember and also the light that lightens the climate control face also flickers and turns off if i touch it or go over a bump sometimes just the bass from the subs turn them off. Any ideas? thanks

Bulbs are bad, fuse is bad or if you have one, the dimmer knob is bad.

I had the same issue but my gauges and heater controls didnt light up, the dimmer knob blew and it controls it all. You can bypass it if you have one by connecting a wire into it and grounding it.

yeah i see what you mean but my dimmer light is mint and it still works its just that the temp control face flickers on and off and the PRND21 is off completley. Im guessing its a bulb i guess il just have to open it up to see.

Well, one way of knowing is to remove the dimmer knob and like I said find the power wire and ground it and see if it all lights up.

Otherwise its a bad fuse or bulbs.
