89 22re pickup heater core
Hey everyone.
anybody have any pics or grief saving tips for getting at at heater core on an 89 22re or pickup or something similar?
started pissing coolant and found puddles under my floormats. about to start digging to find out what the deal is.
its warmed up to -23 here today, gotta get this fixed yesterday!!!!

I think this has to be one of the most labor intensive jobs on these vehicles.
If you have AC just more parts to remove.
If your a bigger person you might think to pull the seat out to give you more room.
Then of course the first time doing anything takes so very long
Once the heater core is uncovered I had to really fight to get it apart even after soaking in Kroil for a few days.

This is a major job on a Toyota. You are going to have to remove the dash and have nearly everything stripped down to the firewall. For your first time, I would allow 6 or more hours to complete it. First time I had to do one, I went to the boneyard and practiced taking one of their dashs apart as though as I was taking mine apart. On an 89 model truck, start from the passenger side and work your way to the drivers side on disassembly. You have your work cut out for you.
