88 v6 4runner

Hi, i went down to start my truck last night, and it wouldnt start. It doesnt even turn over, we were driving it not 3 hrs before with no trouble what so ever. The battery seems to be fine and i have never had any starter trouble or noises. battery posts are clean and no lights were left on. Do starters just go suddenly? I have never seen this, where could i start?, any advice will help. Thanx.

Is it just "clicking?" If so mine does the same thing the started needs to be replaced or u can open it up and put new conatacts on it. This thread may help you if this is the case.

No problem, i often shake my truck in and out of gear and get all frustrated but it eventually it starts, but my dad said he's just gonna buy a new one instead of rebuilding.

Hey, got er out tonight, it was no problem at all, little greasy but its out. I found the problem and it was as simple as the positive conection which had fallen off the starter. However i was half way there and decided to take it right out for inspection. Glad i did because those contacts were on thier last legs. I would have to say, my vote is to fix the starter, once its out it is no trouble to remove the contacts, the work is getting it out.
